About Us
We are the Veterans Association of North County (VANC). For the first time in the history of North County, we are in the process of establishing the Veterans Memorial Building, a center for all military veterans and their families.
The Veterans Association of North County is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization, established to provide a center for all veterans where they and their families can receive aid, be connected to needed resources, and sponsor social and patriotic functions.
The various veteran organizations under the Veterans Association of North County collectively represent over 5,000 members throughout North San Diego. We feel this number will grow once we are established in a permanent location. The California Department of Veterans Affairs has reported there are of 265,000 veterans in San Diego County and, approximately, 80,000 of those live in North County.
What this Center means to North County veterans is that for the first time they will have a mailing address for their organizations other than a P.O. Box number. For the first time organizations will have a permanent location and when asked by a prospective member where the facility is, they can direct them with pride to the Veterans Memorial Building at 1617 Mission Ave., Oceanside. This new center will offer a central location where all veterans, and their families, can go to get information about social services, veteran activities and veteran benefits.
Our common goals and objectives are to provide a center for ALL veterans of all branches, and all eras (including active duty & reserve personnel) where they can meet and support the more than thirty-three organizations that make up VANC.
What the VANC facility will also provide is stability throughout the North County community, making it easier to recruit new members, offer a link to resources, and provide a location for fundraisers in support of the many programs that are provided to fellow veterans and to the community.
We need the community’s support to make the Center a reality! Individuals & organizations can help by donating cash, building materials, construction skills, engineering skills, and/or by volunteering your time on one of our many committees.
To make a donation or for more information contact us at (760) 967-7254 or EMAIL–Thank You!
Currently, this site represents the Virtual Resource Center for Veterans and their families.
